Gianlucia Zampalini has said that growing up gracely was not an easy thing to do.
The former Milan and Inter coach has been in the news this week after he was caught on camera saying that he would not change his footballing ways after becoming the new Milan coach.
However, he told the Corriere dello Sport: “When I was a young man, I was very lucky, it was a beautiful time.
But it was also very hard, you have to work so hard to get to the top.
I have to accept the challenge.”
Zampalina has been a coach at Milan for four years and was sacked in 2014.
He then took over at Inter, winning two Serie A titles and a Champions League in his first season.
He also won the Champions League with Milan in the 2013-14 season.
“It was a very difficult year in my career, but I am grateful for all the support I have received from all the people I have worked with and from my family,” he said.
“I am very thankful for that and I will try to do my best for the future.
I am not going to give up on this club, I will always try to help it win trophies.”
